Mud Monster 5K to benefit United Way

United Way of Mercer County, Pa., and Trumbull County will host their annual Mud Monster 5K Saturday at Yankee Lake, 1800 state Route 7 NE. Gates open at 7:30 a.m. and the event begins at 9. A one-mile obstacle race for Lil’ Mud Monsters ages 5 to 13 will take place at 8:30 a.m. on a separate course.

A free event T-shirt will be given to the first 150 registered participants. Cost is $45 for adults and $20 for teens. Lil’ mud race will cost $15 per child. An extra $10 each will be added to those who register at the gate. Spectators will pay $5.

Awards will be given to three male and three female winners in each age group.

Proceeds will benefit United Way in Mercer and Trumbull counties.
