Edible Arrangements changes Boardman locations

BOARDMAN

Edible Arrangements here is moving as the brand expands from delivering decorative fruit baskets to serving up fresh smoothies, parfaits and frozen yogurts.

The company, previously located in the Boardman Plaza on Boardman-Canfield Road, is moving to a larger freestanding building at 18 Boardman-Poland Road to celebrate a decade of service to the Youngstown community by revamping its image, said franchise owner Ron Taylor.

The new store will support Edible Arrangements’ new line of fruit products called “Edible To Go.”

“We are better at fruit than anyone else,” Taylor said. “... We’re doing all the old stuff. The delivery is the core of the business. But we are also expanding what products people can get. The thought process is that we have all these fantastic fresh fruit products at our disposal, so what else can we do with it? You’re really getting the best of both worlds.”

The new store will have a fruit bar where customers go through the line and select which fruits, protein powders and oats they want in their smoothies, parfaits and yogurts, which are then made fresh in front of them.

The location will have all new equipment, and it will be the first Edible Arrangements store to have a drive-through window, Taylor said.

“It will look different than any edible arrangement that you’ve ever seen,” he added.

The new location opens Saturday. It will serve 99-cent smoothies from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and there will be a bounce house, activities and fruit-based games in the parking lot. The first 50 people to arrive will receive Edible Arrangements smoothie tumblers, Taylor said.
