Vince Gill to play Packard hall in Oct.

Vince Gill will come to Packard Music Hall on Oct. 23 for an 8 p.m. concert.

Tickets for the Country Music Hall of Fame member’s show are $41, $51 and $61 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at ticketmaster.com, by phone at 800-745-3000 and at the Packard box office, 1703 Mahonign Ave. NW.

Gill has placed more than 40 singles on the country charts and has sold more than 26 million albums. Before he launched his solo career in the 1980s, he was the frontman for country rock band Pure Prairie League.

Canter for a Cure at the Fairgrounds

CANFIELD

The Judge’s Choice 4-H Club will host its annual Canter for a Cure, Wrangler’s Tough Enough to Wear Pink two-day benefit horse show July 30 and 31 at the east ring at the Canfield Fairgrounds.

Go to canterforacure.com for registration and show information. Stalls and camping during the event are available for equine and canine participants that must stay overnight.

All donations will benefit the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. The non-profit 4-H Club is looking for donations and contributions to sponsor the event or to be made in memory of a loved one, or someone battling cancer. All donations are tax deductible, and sponsor names are displayed during the week of the Canfield Fair and for one year at the Canter event website.

Gallery’s annual art show to open

Trumbull Art Gallery’s annual juried exhibition will open Saturday with a reception from 6 to 9 p.m. The juror this year is Youngstown artist James Pernotto. The gallery is at 158 N. Park Ave.

Ekoostik Hookah at Nelson Ledges

Summer Hookah weekend, featuring two nights of jam band music with headliner Ekoostik Hookah, will be July 29-31 at Nelson Ledges Quarry Park. Admission is $70 ($60 in advance at nlqp.com) for the whole weekend; and $50 ($40 in advance) for Saturday through Sunday. There is no extra charge for camping.
