Township police charged three people with operating a vehicle while impaired over the weekend.

Police stopped a Poland woman on Southern Boulevard for recklessly driving at the intersection of Indianola Road and Southern Boulevard at 1 a.m. Saturday.

The woman, later identified as Nicole Armeni, 30, of Sigle Lane, became augmentative when police asker her to leave her vehicle, according to a police report.

A police officer conducted a field-sobriety test, which she failed.

Armeni refused to take a breath test.

Police stopped a Youngstown man on Beechwood Drive east of Market Street on Saturday evening.

The officer reportedly smelled a strong odor of alcohol coming from the man, later identified as Tommy Thomas, 60, of Auburndale Avenue, and conducted a field-sobriety test, which he failed.

Thomas had a blood-alcohol content of 0.152 percent, nearly twice the Ohio legal intoxication limit of 0.08 percent.

Police stopped a Boardman man driving a car without a visible license plate light on Indianola Road.

Officers smelled a strong odor of alcohol from the man, later identified as Daniel Sullivan, 37, of Red Fox Court, and conducted a field-sobriety test, which he failed.

He refused to take a breath test.

All three were released with a pending court appearance today.
