Kaiser to lead Firestone Park project

COLUMBIANA — Keith Kaiser, longtime horticulture director for the Mill Creek MetroParks, has a new job.

The Restoration and Beautification Committee of Columbiana has hired Kaiser to lead horticultural efforts for the Firestone Park renovation initiative.

Kaiser served as the director for Fellowship River Gardens for 27 years until he was summarily dismissed along with 12 others during a staff restructuring implemented in February.

Kaiser also recently finalized his separation from the park, according to a signed severance agreement dated May 17.

After completing the cataloging of Firestone Park, Kaiser planted numerous plant beds and containers as part of the committee’s Summer Floral Display.

He will maintain the plant beds and containers until season’s end, the group said in a news release.
