GOP CONVENTION | Trump supporters win floor fight over rules
CLEVELAND — A wild floor fight between supporters and opponents of Donald Trump at the Republican National Convention over rules that would challenge his nomination broke out.
However, his supporters won the war.
There were nine states that originally called for a roll call vote on the nomination, but enough subsequently withdrew to stop that from happening.
Other attempts to change the rules were defeated by pro-Trump delegates in a loud voice vote.
Ohio played no part in the anti-Trump movement even though all 66 delegates are backing Gov. John Kasich, a failed Republican presidential candidate.
