First annual Jean Rider Scholarships awarded

SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR Diabetes Partnership of the Mahoning Valley awarded its first annual Jean Rider Scholarships at a meeting June 27 at the Stonebridge Grille in Boardman. The recipients are, from left, Travis Jones, Boardman High School; Celine Hildack, Campbell Memorial; Tucker Widlicka, United; Taylor Valerio, Campbell Memorial; and Olivia Kochunas, Champion. Jean Rider, center, is a board member of the Partnership and the scholarship is named to honor her advocacy for the diabetic community and service to the partnership. The Partnership is a non-profit organization which works through The Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley to support diabetics and their caregivers. Ankle and Foot Care Center is a major supporter of the Partnership and will host a golf outing at Pine Lakes Golf Club on Aug. 19. The event is open to the public and groups may register by calling the Center at 330-629-8800. The Partnership also will have a booth in the medical building at the Canfield Fair.
