YOUNGSTOWN

The Ohio Department of Transportation has announced new road closures and restrictions for Mahoning and Trumbull counties.

On Interstate 80 in Austintown, work continues on a $91.5 million road-widening project. Restrictions that already are in place continue.

A new restriction begins Monday: I-80 westbound between Salt Springs Road and state Route 46 will have lane restrictions between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. through late August for noise-wall installation.

In Green Township, U.S. Route 62 will close just north of the Columbiana County line from July 25 to July 30 for culvert replacements. The detour will be state Route 165 to state Route 45.

In Goshen Township, state Route 14 just south of Route 165 is now closed through Wednesday for a culvert replacement. The detour is Route 165 to Route 45 to U.S. Route 62 to state Route 14T.

State Route 534 in Goshen will be closed July 25-31 for a culvert replacement. The detour will be Route 165 to Route 45 to U.S. Route 224.

Both projects are part of a $444,000 project, slated for completion in October, to replace several culverts on routes throughout the county.

In Poland and Springfield townships, state Route 170 from just south of the village of Poland to the New Middletown Village limit will have various lane restrictions for pavement repairs beginning Wednesday.

In Trumbull County, Liberty Street over state Route 11 in Liberty is now open.

Beginning Monday and until further notice, state Route 304 over Route 11 in Liberty will be closed for a bridge replacement. The detour is state Route 193 (Belmont Avenue) to I-80 to U.S. Route 422.

That work is part of a $4.8 million project to replace four bridges over routes 11 and 304, and over Liberty-Jones, Tibbetts-Wick and Anderson-Morris roads. Other restrictions remain in place for that project, which is scheduled to be completed by late July 2017.

Beginning Monday in Champion, Bristol and Bloomfield townships, state Route 45 between Route 305 and Peck-Leach Road will have various daily lane restrictions for road resurfacing.

In Bristol and Mecca townships, state Route 88 between state routes 45 and 46 will have various daily lane restrictions for resurfacing beginning Tuesday and until further notice.
