Kinsman VFD celebrates 90th anniversary Aug. 6

The Kinsman Volunteer Fire Department will celebrate its 90th anniversary Aug. 6.

There will be a parade starting at 11 a.m. beginning at the town square and proceeding to the fire hall, 8450 Ridge Road.

The bicycle decorating contest will be judged at the end of the parade. Then there will be a dedication service at the flagpole for deceased Kinsman firefighters.

At 1 p.m., there will be a community picnic followed by a pet parade and old-fashioned games such as sack races, three-legged races, guess the number of-pieces of candy in the jar and more.

A basket auction with more than 100 baskets and gift cards will be offered. The values add up to about $10,000. There also will be a children’s basket auction. Drawings will start after 3 p.m.. and winners need not be present. For information, call 330-876-0809.
