Flower show winners are announced

YOUNGSTOWN

Garden Forum of Greater Youngstown hosted a flower show, “The Men in Our Lives,” at Fellows Riverside Gardens on Father’s Day weekend.

Artistic design blue-ribbon winners were Pearl Marlos of Gleaners Garden Club and Sheila Bowman and Cindy Salerno of Nature Lovers, with Marlos winning a special award for her arrangement “Outdoors Men.”

Horticulture blue-ribbon winners were William Black, public entry; Irene John, member-at-large; Peggy Potts, Johnny Appleseed; Bowman, Rosemary Fuller and Salerno, Nature Lovers; Marlos and Joyce Dunbar, Gleaners; and special awards to Black for his hybrid tea rose and Marlos for her “Any Other Cut” specimen.

The Garden Forum will have entries at the Canfield Fair on Aug. 31 and Sept. 3. Schedules will be available at the fair office.

Other Garden Forum activities will be available at Fellows in August.
