The Lake Milton Fish and Game club, 4374 Bedell Road, is hosting the 15th annual Youth Sportsfest Camp NRA Day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today.

The event features .22 rifle, muzzleloader, air rifle and trap shooting, archery, fishing and canoeing in a supervised and educational environment.

Outdoor expo

Columbiana

The first Shaker Woods Outdoor Expo will take place on the Shaker Woods Festival grounds, 44337 County Line Road, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Sunday.

Feature speakers include professional trapper Smokey McNicholas, columnist Steve Sorensen and television host and producer Dan Parrott.

Vendor exhibitors will include whitewater adventure companies, RVs dealers, sportsman’s clubs, gun ranges and taxidermy, dog training, hunting and camping businesses.

Singer-songwriter Cody Gibson, Tyler Jenkins and John Branch will provide entertainment.

Admission is $7 for adults, $3 for children 6 to 12, and free for children 5 and younger.

Ironman shoot

Leetonia

The Leetonia Sportsman’s Club, 311 East High St., will host its Ironman Clay Bird Shoot on Sunday.

Breakfast will be available from 7 to 11 a.m. Lunch will be available beginning at 11 a.m. Shooting will take place from 8 a.m. until the last shooter finishes.

Leetonia Sportsman’s Charities will donate 100 percent of the proceeds toward the purchase of an all-terrain wheelchair for a wounded veteran.

Hunter education

The Lowellville Rod & Gun Club, 6225 Quarry Road, will have a hunter education course from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.

Ladies firearms class

Vienna

A ladies firearms class has openings at The Fish and Game Club of Vienna, 1508 Youngstown Kingsville Road.

The class runs on Tuesdays from July 19-Sept. 6 from 5:45 to 9:30 p.m. It is a comprehensive class on all firearms and qualifies participants for a CCW license.

Concealed carry

Hubbard

The Hubbard Conservation Club, 1760 Wick-Campbell Road, and United Vets CCW are offering two concealed handgun license training classes from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. next Saturday and July 30.

The class meets the requirements for applying for an Ohio CHL (CCW) license. Cost is $95 per person or $180 per couple and includes use of target pistols, ammunition, eye and ear protection, and light snacks and lunch. Catfish tournament

Hubbard

The Hubbard Conservation Club, 1760 Wick-Campbell Road, is hosting catfish tournaments from 6:30 to 11:30 p.m. next Saturday and Aug. 6 and 20.

Entry fee is $10. First place will receive a payout of 30 percent, and second place will receive 20 percent. All catfish caught will be measured, and the winner will be the participant with the most total inches of catfish.

There also will be a large-catfish pool with a 50 percent payout to the participant who catches the largest single catfish. Entry fee is $4.

Participants must bring their own bait and lanterns. Food and drinks will be sold.
