Three facing charges relating to Weathersfield robbery

Staff report

WARREN

Adonis A. Gantt, 31, of Warren Avenue in Niles, has been arrested after failing to appear for court on an aggravated robbery charge out of Weathersfield Township.

Gantt was indicted in May and appeared in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court for his arraignment, but did not appear for a later hearing, so a warrant for his arrest was issued.

Police arrested him on East Market Street in Howland at 4:30 p.m. Thursday and took him to the Trumbull County Jail.

The charge relates to a March 29 incident in which a Youngstown man, 23, said he had responded to an online ad for a massage and went to an address on Warren Avenue in Weathersfield, where he met a woman who took him to an upstairs bedroom and left him there.

Two males entered the room and robbed him at knifepoint of $120 and his cellphone, the victim said. He was allowed to leave, and he went to a nearby business and called 911.

In addition to Gantt, Weathersfield police also charged Jamichael D. Anderson, 27, of Estabrook Avenue Northwest, and Raven L. Cooper, 31, of Harding Street in Mineral Ridge. They also were later indicted on aggravated robbery, and their cases are also pending in common pleas court. All three face a possible prison term of 10 years if convicted.
