The Magic of Michael Foundation is hosting their Second Annual Meet and Greet and Golf Outing this Sunday and Monday at The Lake Club in Poland.

The event, which aims to raise money northeast Ohio families with children with disabilities, features Jim Leyland, former manager of the Pittsburgh Pirates, Florida Marlins, Colorado Rockies and Detroit Tigers.

Joining him will be former Pirates announcer Lanny Frattare. The event will feature private meet and greets with both Leyland and Frattare.

The foundation was founded after brothers Michael and John Hirschbeck both passed away from adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD) within 11 years of each other. Two of Michael’s best friends suggested an organization to help keep the memory of Michael alive.

Both Michael and John were sons of Major League Baseball umpire John Hirschbeck.

Last year’s event included former New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers manager Joe Torre and Cleveland Indians announcer Tom Hamilton.

This weekend’s event begins with the meet and greet from 5-6:30 p.m. on Sunday followed by dinner from 6:30-9:30 p.m.

Tickets for Sunday’s dinner and live auction are $150 each and includes appetizers, a buffet dinner, dessert and an open bar.

Monday’s golf outing beings with registration at 8:30 a.m. and a shotgun start at 10 a.m.

Tickets for the golf outing are $200 per golfer.

Special packages, which include exclusive meet-and-greets with Leyland, are available as well.

A $5,000 sponsorship includes a table for eight guests, eight tickets to meet Leyland, VIP golf on Sunday accompanied by MLB special guests, preferred seating and a full-page ad in the program book.

A $2,500 sponsorship includes a table for four guests, four tickets to meet Leyland, a Monday foursome for the golf outing, preferred seating and a half-page ad in the program book.

Hole sponsorship is $100 per hole.
