Family gathering marks Korens’ 50th anniversary

NEW MIDDLETOWN

A private family gathering honored William J. and Evlyn Koren for their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday at the Elmtree in Struthers. Their children and their spouses hosted the party.

Their children are Kim and Michael Kane of Struthers; Carolyn and Byron Alvarico of Boardman; Tamara and Efren Unabia of Las Vegas; and William J. Jr. and Julie Koren of Poolesville, Md. Nine grandchildren complete the family.

The former Evlyn Orenic and Mr. Koren were married April 30, 1966, at Holy Trinity Church in Struthers.

Mrs. Koren is a homemaker. Her husband was a teacher in Youngstown City Schools and retired in 1995.

The couple are members of St. Paul the Apostle Church and its pirogi committee.
