Man gets six years in gas station robbery

Judge Maureen Sweeney today sentenced a man to six years in prison for the robbery of a Boardman gas station.

Jamar Mitchell, 32, was sentenced in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court on a charge of aggravated robbery with a firearm specification.

Mitchell pleaded guilty to the May 31, 2015, robbery of a gas station in the 8000 block of Glenwood Avenue. An unknown amount of cash was taken, reports said.

He was sentenced to three years on the robbery charge and an additional three years for the firearm specification.
