Mahoning and Trumbull counties will receive more than $13 million combined to help fight blight

Mahoning and Trumbull counties will receive more than $13 million combined to help fight blight.

The Ohio Housing Finance Agency today announced it will award Mahoning County $6.8 million for demolition of blighted properties over the next three years while Trumbull County will receive $6.5 million.

The funding comes from the agency’s Neighborhood Initiative Program. Overall, 18 counties throughout the state received funding to help eliminate blighted, vacant and abandoned properties.
