Boardman police investigate burglary, breaking and entering

BOARDMAN — Police are investigating separate incidents that involve a Tuesday burglary and breaking and entering this morning.

The burglary took place at an apartment on Oregon Trail, where the victims returned and found their door cracked open at 6 p.m. Tuesday. An Xbox gaming console and Michael Jordan basketball shoes were reported stolen. The victims told police their door would sometimes fail to lock, and whoever entered might have known that. Police found no signs of forced entry.

The breaking and entering occurred at a residence on Chester Drive at 1 a.m. today. The victim told police he was entering his garage, which he shares with his neighbor, when he saw three men inside.

The resident confronted the men and drew his pistol. One man ran away on Market Street. The other two ran through backyards.

He described the men as black, 16 to 18 years old, all about 5 feet 10 inches tall and all wearing black clothing.
