Poland firefighters remain on scene at Struthers Road fire

POLAND

Firefighters with the Western Reserve Joint Fire District remain at the scene of a fire on Struthers Road.

A barn full of heavy machinery caught fire earlier today. The fire then began to spread to a nearby field, fire department officials said.

A crew continues to hose water on to the fire, which Fire Chief Chip Comstock could keep burning for as long as a day. He said he expects his team to remain on site for most of today.

“[It’s] a lot of people, a lot of work,” he said.

The department responded to the call around 12 p.m.

There were no injuries.
