Man gets 15-years-to-life for stabbing death
YOUNGSTOWN — A man convicted June 30 of stabbing a Liberty man to death received the maximum 15 years to life sentence in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.
Theodore Alexander, 60, received the sentence from Judge John Durkin for the murder of Ivan West, 27, of Liberty.
West was stabbed to death Sept. 29, 2013, inside Alexander's South Side home.
A jury took just over two hours to convict Alexander of murder following a two-day trial.
The sentence of 15 to life is the only sentence that can be given for a murder charge.
