The SCOPE senior center, 14 East State Street, will be closed today. The center flooded due to a water-main break in a nearby alley, an official with the Niles Fire Department said.

Park roads closed

YOUNGSTOWN

Beginning today, Memorial Hill and East Glacier drives in Mill Creek Park will be closed to vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists while the road is resurfaced.

Memorial Hill Drive will be closed from Glenwood Avenue to West Glacier Drive. East Glacier will be closed from Memorial Hill Drive to Lower Volney Rogers Field. The field will remain accessible using East Glacier Drive from Glenwood.

The roads are expected to reopen in late September upon completion of the project.

MCCTC Bistro open

The Bistro Restaurant at the Adult Career Center at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center will be open for dinner from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday through July 21.

The Bistro Restaurant is operated by adult culinary students along with chef Sean Kushma and chef Quinn Meechan.

Each Monday and Wednesday a different theme buffet will be offered, and on Tuesdays and Thursdays, a full menu will be available. The Bistro Restaurant is at the school on North Palmyra Road. Cash and checks only are accepted and reservations are recommended.

Open house set

KINSMAN

ValleyCare Medical Group of Ohio announced that Dr. Mansi Sharma will have an open house from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday. The event will take place at Dr. Sharma’s office, 8231 Main St., Kinsman, and is open to the public.

Dr. Sharma is a board-certified internal-medicine physician who focuses on treating patients 18 years and older. Her services include preventive care and treatment of conditions such as hypertension, diabetes and weight management. Attendees will have an opportunity to tour the office and participate in free blood pressure and body mass index screenings.

Arrested in robbery

CHARLESTON, W.Va.

Police in West Virginia have charged an East Liverpool, Ohio, man after he purportedly forced open a McDonald’s drive-through window and stole cash. Media outlets report 22-year-old Jonathan Gibbs was arrested Saturday in Charleston.

Charleston police Lt. Steve Cooper says Gibbs squeezed into the restaurant’s drive-through window, showed a gun and robbed the store of an undetermined amount of money. Officers tracked him to a nearby riverbank where he was arrested.

Gibbs was being held Sunday on $20,000 bond.
