Child struck after car chase, Youngstown man reports

YOUNGSTOWN

Police are investigating an alleged assault involving a discharged gun.

A resident reported two brothers physically assaulted him after an argument on Gaither Avenue Friday night. The man said he left the scene of the altercation in his car only to be followed by the brothers in another car. They stopped him at gunpoint near Pasadena Avenue and Erie Street, he said.

One of the brothers tried to assault the victim’s friend, who was in the back seat along with a 1-year old child, who was struck, he added.

The report does not indicate who struck the child.

The victim said the brothers also fired a single round into the air toward his car before fleeing.

The incident remains under investigation.
