Mt. Carmel Festival starts Sunday

LOWELLVILLE

The 121st Mount Carmel Festival begins with a home-cooked spaghetti dinner at 6 p.m. Sunday.

The festival starts at 6 p.m. nightly beginning Wednesday through Saturday at 102 Washington St.

Steve Fazzini will entertain Wednesday and Thursday, Amanda Jones Band on Friday and The Locals on Saturday. The Mount Carmel Band will play traditional Italian favorites nightly.

There will be a boccie tournament, an Italian Morra tournament, a basket auction hosted by the Mount Carmel Ladies Club and many Italian food vendors.

The Holy Feast Day on Saturday will begin with a parade at 9:30 a.m. and proceed to Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church with a high Mass at 10. Bishop George Murry will attend.

Zambelli will close the festival with a display of fireworks.
