ASSOCIATIONS

Tri-Gold Primetime Chapter of American Business Women’s Association will meet Wednesday at A La Cart Catering in Canfield. A social at 5:30 p.m. will precede the dinner meeting at 6. Cost is $15 per person; the menu comprises hot dogs, hamburgers, jojo potatoes, potato salad, macaroni salad, fruit, rolls and butter, coffee, tea and dessert. FrackFree Mahoning Valley Group will meet at 6 p.m. Sunday at First Unitarian Universalist Church, 1105 Elm St., Youngstown, to make final plans for Tuesday’s prayer vigil and rally in Coitsville. Transcendental Interest Group will have its regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Park Vista North Lounge, 1310 Fifth Ave., Youngstown. The July meeting will begin a study of scientific secrets to a powerful memory and will evaluate the work of Peter M. Vishton, and study his steps to improving memory at any age. NAMI Mahoning Valley will offer support groups for those who deal with mental illness. Family support groups, providing information for family members and friends of individuals with mental illness, will be offered the first Thursday of each month in Trumbull County at 11 a.m. at the Girard Library, 105 E. Prospect St., and on the second Tuesday of each month in Mahoning County at 7 p.m. at the D & E Counseling Center, 142 Javit Court, Austintown. The Connection support group aims to connect individuals who live with mental illness in a structured discussion format. It is limited to adults living with a mental health diagnosis in order to promote self-disclosure in a safe, confidential environment. It is free and open to anyone with a mental health diagnosis. They meet for a day session at 1:30 p.m. each Thursday at the Community Center, 1344 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, and in the evenings at 6 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursday of each month at the D & E Center. R-Weigh Weight Support Groups meet on Mondays at First Friends Church, 1028 Jennings Ave., Salem. Afternoon weigh-in is from 1 to 1:30 p.m., and the meeting will follow at 1:45. Youngstown Area PFLAG will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown. This support, education and advocacy organization meets the second Tuesday of each month. It strives to create a society respectful of human diversity. The event is confidential and free.
