Water main break interrupts service on South Side

YOUNGSTOWN — A break on a water line on the city’s South Side caused some minor flooding and is leaving 10 houses without water for hours today.

The break in the middle of Midlothian Boulevard, between Firnley and Glenwood avenues, to an 8-inch water line caused water to roll down both sides of the street, said Lou Zorella, a city water department foreman.

The break to an old 8-inch water line was reported about 7:30 a.m. today. The repair work should be finished between 1:30 and 3:30 p.m., he said.
