Investigators: Source of May 17 fire that killed 3 is undetermined
YOUNGSTOWN — Investigators said the official cause for a May 17 fire at a 1524 Bryson St. home that killed a mother and two of her children will be undetermined.
Capt. Kurt Wright, head of the city fire department’s Fire Investigation Unit, said an investigation by the state Fire Marshal’s office could not find what sparked the blaze that killed NaKema Autry, 24 and her children Quincy, 2 and Jimmia Moore, 24 months, but the fire is not considered suspicious.
Fire officials had said the day of the fire that the fire had started in the floor between the basement and first floor.
Autry’s parents were also home at the time of the fire and managed to escape. The home was a total loss.
