A Bonnie Brae Avenue man is in the Mahoning County jail after police said he threatened to kill a woman and set fire to a home she was in early Monday morning.
Gary Brown, 51, is expected to be arraigned in municipal court today on four counts of aggravated arson and a single count of aggravated menacing.
Police were called to his home at about 5:20 a.m. and found a fire inside and a window punched out. An officer managed to extinguish the fire with an extinguisher he had in his cruiser.
A woman in the home said she had been arguing with Brown and he threatened to go to his car, get a gun and kill her and himself. He then punched the window and lit a fire, but reports did not say how the fire was lit.
