City fire crews fight 4 vacant house fires
YOUNGSTOWN — Firefighters responded to four vacant house fires over the weekend.
Two homes on the East Side at 1503 Victor Ave. and 1622 Lansdowne Blvd. were destroyed early Monday morning by flames that broke out about 3:10 a.m. and 3:45 a.m., respectively.
Damage on Victor Avenue was listed at $3,000 and $2,000 on Lansdowne Boulevard.
About 3:00 a.m. Monday, firefighters were called to an 87 Saranac Ave. home where they found a small fire on the front porch and three cans of charcoal fluid. The fire was quickly put out. No damage estimate was listed.
About 10:25 p.m. Friday, firefighters were called to a 122 W. Boston Ave. home for a report of people going inside the home lighting a fire. Crews found a small pile of trash in the living room with a can of lighter fluid and quickly put that fire out as well. A damage estimate was also not listed for that fire.
There were no injuries.
