JULY

Monday — Canfield’s 41st annual Firecracker Four-mile run and half-mile children’s run begins at the Village Green. Children’s run begins at 8:15 a.m, and the four-mile run begins at 8:30 a.m. Early registration is available online at www.secondsoleohio.com or by mail-in form. Prices for children’s race are $2 (no shirt) or $10 with shirt included. Prices for the four-mile run are $15 through July 3 and $18 on race day with registration beginning at 7 a.m. For more information, email josh@secondsoleohio.com or call 330-758-8708.

Monday — Struthers Foundation 4th of July Parade 5K starting in the Pizza Joe’s parking lot on the corner of 5th Street and Rita Drive. Run starts at 11:30 a.m. and goes until 12:30 p.m. Runners must sign up before June 22 to guarantee a shirt. For more information, contact Michael Cox at phadi200766@yahoo.com.

Saturday — Sixth annual Andrea Rose Teodosio Memorial Run in downtown Akron features a 5K, one-mile run/walk and kids fun run. Advance registration is $25 and $30 on race day. More than 800 runners are expected. Andrea Rose Teodosio, daughter of Judges Tom and Linda Teodosio, died in a skiing accident in 2011. The race benefits the Andrea Rose Teodosio Foundation, which assists the underprivileged and elderly, addresses environmental issues and promotes community service and education in Akron and surrounding areas. 23 — ColorBurst 5K will be at Eastwood Field in Niles. Highlighting the run are amazing music and gallons of colored paint At each interval along the course, CB5K crew blast each participant with non-toxic, hypoallergenic, washable, water-based paint from the sidelines. Early-bird tickets cost $32.50 and include a CB5K t-shirt, CB5K headband and a personal sized bottle of color. 23 — Third annual Run for Caitlin will begin at 9 a.m. at Canfield High School. There will be an 8K run and 3K walk/run. Participants may register at Second Sole in Boardman or online at runforcaitlin.orgrace.
