TNP, Bookworms of Warren conduct literacy project

WARREN
Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership and Bookworms of Warren are conducting a multipartner literacy project, the goal of which is to publish a book of community-written literature about gardening.
People of all ages and writing levels may submit original prose, poem, illustrations or a short story, up to 1,000 words, about a personal experience with gardening, especially community gardens. Warren City Schools is also a partner in the project.
For those wanting guidance for their submissions, workshops are scheduled at these Warren locations: 6 p.m., July 16, Victory Garden (adult/children), near the corner of York and Jackson streets Southwest; 10 a.m. July 30, Giving Tree Garden (children based), near the corner of Scott and Vine streets Northeast; 3 to 6 p.m. Aug. 2, Farmers Market, Courthouse Square in downtown Warren.
Email submissions to mikenna@tnpwarren.org by Aug. 14 along with the writer’s name, age, and contact information and what garden inspired their story.
