New church dedication

St. Thomas the Apostle Parish is the merger of St. Bernadette Church, 7800 Locust St., Masury, and St. Vincent de Paul Church, 4453 Warren-Sharon Road, Vienna. The merger process began six years ago and is culminating with the dedication of a new church building at 4475 Warren-Sharon Road.

Dedication: Mass at 2 p.m. Sunday with Bishop George V. Murry of the Diocese of Youngstown as main celebrant. The church will receive a relic of St. Thomas from the bishop. Special music will include the selection, “We Walk by Faith.” July 3 is the Feast Day of the parish’s patron saint. A pot-luck picnic will follow. The parish is providing hot dogs, hamburger and ribs; members are to bring side dishes. Commemorative T-shirts will be sold. The public is welcome.
