The kindergarten classes at Stadium Drive Elementary put on a Memorial Day program for their families and other guests on May 27.

The name of the program was “We Love the USA.” The students wore blue bottoms and a red, white or some type of patriotic top. The performance consisted of the students reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and singing several patriotic songs.

At the end of the performance, the guests who have served or are currently serving in the military were asked to stand. Several of the guests stood and received a round of applause. To finish the program, the students left the stage and sat to watch the video that was put together. The video consisted of pictures of the students’ family members who served in the military, what branch and what years they served.

Tami Socie, Candace Fabry and Emily McFarland, the three kindergarten teachers, worked with their students for all of May to practice for their program to make it the best they could. The program was put on to celebrate Memorial Day. The students and teachers wanted to honor the holiday and show their respect for those in the military.
