The fifth-grade classes at Austintown Intermediate School celebrated their final Fun Day at AIS on May 25.

This was the last Fun Day the students would participate in at AIS before they move to Austintown Middle School for sixth grade. The outside of AIS was filled with inflatables, water games and several other activities for the students to participate in.

“We got a break off of hard work and it’s one of our last days. It gets to be a fun day on the last day,” said Kelsey Mickey, a fifth-grade student.

Many of the inflatables were provided by Austintown Bounce for the students to use. There was a giant slide, an obstacle course and a jousting arena for the students to play with. Different stations were set up with water games to help the students cool down on the hot and sunny day. There was a life-size game of Ker Plunk, a Potty Toss game and more.

“I liked it because we get to play with our friends, it’s all the friends we made throughout the whole entire three years,” said Pete Shrake, a fifth-grade student.

The AIS PTA worked on organizing and putting everything together for the students to enjoy as the school year came to an end. The third- and fourth-grade classes also had their own fun days prior to the fifth-graders.

“It celebrates all the work we did, and it’s a fun day,” said Aidyn Connolly, a fifth-grade student.
