Hermitage cops: Woman killed in an apparent murder/suicide case

HERMITAGE, Pa.

Hermitage police are investigating an apparent murder/attempted suicide that occurred around 6 p.m. Friday on Sample Road where they found Cheryl Lynne Tremmel, 44, dead from a gunshot wound and her husband, Edward Tremmel, 51, with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his face.

Tremmel is charged with criminal homicide, according to 21 WFMJ-TV, The Vindicator’s broadcast partner.

Relatives say there is a history of domestic violence at the Tremmel home, and that Cheryl had planned to leave the home as early as Monday, WFMJ reported. The couple has two daughters.

The family dog, Tink, went missing during the chaos. The family requests that anyone with information call 724-456-4363.

Tole-painting class to be offered in Mercer

MERCER, PA.

Munnell Run Farm, 753 Greenville Road, in conjunction Mercer County Conservation District will welcome guest artisan Georgia Mosebach for a tole painting program from 5:45 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 17.

Mosebach has more than 25 years of tole-painting experience and will teach guests more about the decorative art by creating a 16-inch-round snow lady. No art experience is required, and all materials will be provided.

Mad About the Arts, the annual art/music/dance event that benefits the McDonough Museum of Art and WYSU, will take place from 7 to 10 p.m. Feb. 19, at the museum at Youngstown State University. The event begins at 7 p.m. with the YSU Jazz Ensemble, directed by Kent Engelhardt. At 8:30 p.m., The Sensations will perform standards, oldies, R & B and Motown, as well as dance tunes. Tickets are $80.
