Youth choir festival

YOUNGSTOWN

The Office of Worship of the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown will sponsor the 2016 Diocesan Youth Choir Festival starting at noon April 30 in St. Columba Cathedral, 154 W. Wood St.

The festival will culminate with the Youth Choir singing at the 4:30 p.m. vigil Mass.

Dennis Roden of Little Flower Parish, Middlebranch, Ohio, will serve as music director for the festival. He will be assisted by Dr. Daniel Laginya, Mary Ann Bilas Bush and members of the diocese’s Cecilia Music Project.

A choral prelude will begin at 4:15 p.m.

Lunch and music will be provided for all students registered for the festival. There is no charge to any student or choir for participating in the event, although donations toward music and lunch expenses will be accepted.

The Youth Choir Festival is open to all students in diocesan schools and parishes in third through 12th grades.

Individual students, school, or parish youth choirs must register for the event by March 15.
