St. John the Baptist to host Bishop Paul

On the weekend of Feb. 13 and 14, His Grace, the Right Reverend Paul, Bishop of Chicago and the Diocese of the Midwest of the Orthodox Church in America will make his first official archpastoral visit to St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, 305 Struthers-Liberty Road.

His Grace Paul was consecrated to the Episcopacy and enthroned as Bishop of Chicago and the Midwest at Chicago’s historic Holy Trinity Cathedral on Dec. 27, 2014.

In addition to Bishop Paul, the parish also will host the Rev. Steven Voytovich, seminary dean, and the Mission Choir from St. Tikhon’s Orthodox Theological Seminary in South Canaan, Pa.

The seminarians will sing the responses to the Great Vespers service at 5 p.m. Feb. 13 and at the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. Feb. 14.

There will be a dinner Feb. 14 in the parish hall after the Divine Liturgy.

All are welcome to attend the weekend’s liturgical services and dinner.
