A summary of police activity in Austintown:

Jan. 18

Warrant: Police arrested Samantha Morris,27, of Burkey Road, and Chastity Young, 42, of East Radio Road, for theft of $74.71 in merchandise from Walmart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Jan. 19

Theft: A heater was stolen from Power Tool & Supply, 3699 LeHarps Road.

Menacing: A female threatened another female in the apartments in the 1000 block of Compass West.

Weapons offense: A vehicle was shot and damaged at a home in the 4000 block of Burkey Road.

Warrant: Police arrested Johnathan Repid, 25, of Berlin Center on two warrants, one for failure to appear for pretrial on charges of theft and possessing criminal tools and another for failure to appear for arraignment for possession of criminal tools.

Jan. 20

Theft: A house for sale was placed on Craigslist in the 6000 block of Berry Blossom Drive without the homeowner’s knowledge or consent.

Theft: Police arrested Ricardo Wallace, 57, of Northview Boulevard, Youngstown, on a theft charge. Police accused him of talking $29.27 in merchandise from Kmart, 4475 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: Police arrested Mark Caudill, 38, homeless, on a charge of possession of criminal tools and falsification. He was arrested at Kmart.

Jan. 21

Theft: Items were taken by a suspect at Walmart.

Violation of a protection order: A male suspect left flowers and cards at the victim’s door in the 4000 block of Deer Creek Court.

Warrant: Police arrested Curtis Gearhart, 31, of Pine Hollow Road, Lisbon, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on traffic and child support charges.

Recovered property: A Taurus 0.38 handgun was found in the lawn at Starbucks, 851 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Jan. 22

Warrant: Police arrested Tony Sciarra, 27, of Wedgewood Drive on a warrant for failure to appear on a traffic charge.

Warrant: Police arrested John Kish, 49, of Trumbull Ave., Girard, on a warrant for theft of miscellaneous parts and repairs totaling $1,528.92 from a 2013 Ford F-150 at Fred Martin Ford, 4701 Mahoning Ave.

Jan. 23

Criminal trespass: Police arrested Rex Johnson, 55, of Oakview Drive, Girard on a charge of criminal trespassing at Starbucks.

Telecommunications harassment: Phone calls and text messages were reported at a home in the 3000 block of Johnson Court.

Jan. 24

Attempted theft: An attempt to steal a Vindicator newspaper box was reported at a home in the 4000 block of Westchester Drive.

Warrant: Police arrested David Blackwell, 24, of Pyatt Street, Youngstown, on a warrant for failure to appear on a traffic offense.

Criminal damaging: A windshield was smashed on a 2010 Toyota vehicle.

Theft: A license plate was stolen from an auto parked at a home in the 3000 block of Mahoning Avenue.

Telecommunications harassment: Unwanted text messages and emails were reported at a home in the 5000 block of Winthrop Drive.

Drug offense: Police issued a summons to Thomas Blake, 50, of Milton-Newton Road, Newton Falls, on charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
