YOUNGSTOWN

Area IHOP restaurants will be kicking off their annual campaign in support of the Children’s Miracle Network, a nonprofit organization that raises funds for more than 170 children’s hospitals.

Children’s Miracle Network Miracle Balloons will be sold for $1 and $5 each, and will be personalized and displayed at participating IHOP restaurants from Monday through March 8.

Every dollar raised at locations in Boardman, 833 Boardman-Poland Road, and Warren, 1980 Niles-Cortland Road, will benefit Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley, a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital on Market Street in Boardman.

In addition to selling the signature for Children’s Miracle Network balloons, each restaurant will take part in National Pancake Day on March 8 to raise awareness and funds for the hospital.

In 2015, IHOP restaurants nationwide raised more than $2.3 million for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, and $1.2 million was raised on National Pancake Day alone.

Locally, both the Boardman and Warren IHOPs raised more than $8,000 last year, and over the past eight years, the local stores raised more than $28,000 for Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley.
