White-Charnofsky to premiere works

YOUNGSTOWN

The New Music Guild will present concerts by the duo of Linda White (flute) and Eric Charnofsky (piano) at 7 p.m. Saturday at First Congregational Church, 41 E. Jefferson St., Jefferson; and 4 p.m. Sunday at Sts. Peter and Paul Church, 421 Covington St., Youngstown. A reception will follow the Sunday concert in the church hall. Admission to both concerts is free.

White performs regularly with classical guitarist Robert Gruca in the Gruca White Ensemble, in-residence at the Cleveland Music Settlement.

Charnofsky is a collaborative pianist, composer and music instructor who teaches at Case Western Reserve University, and has performed with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Cleveland Orchestra.

The White-Charnofsky Duo will feature the Ohio premiere of Youngstown composer Robert Rollin’s “Chicklet’s Odyssey” (2013), among other compositions.

Dulci-More concert marks anniversary

Dulci-More: Folk & Traditional Musicians will present its 23rd annual anniversary concert at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church, 244 S. Broadway. Admission is free.
