Pirogi sale today at St. Stanislaus

St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., is selling potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi today.
Advance orders will be taken at 330-747-3024 from 8 a.m. to noon, and pickup will be from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The cost is $6.50 per dozen. Walk-in orders are welcome.
Pirogi lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Breakfast Sunday

St. James the Apostle Church, 4019 state Route 422, will serve a breakfast brunch from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children.
The meal comprises French toast, sweet cheese filling, buttermilk and buckwheat pancakes with maple or apple syrup, scrambled eggs, peppers, onions and cheese, home fries, bacon, sausage, ham, toast, cinnamon rolls, hot and cold cereals, coffee, tea, juices and milk.
Last call for fashion show models Saturday

A last-chance American Girl Fashion Show model call will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Building C in the first-floor community room at Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley, 6505 Market St.
Girls who wear size 10 are in particular demand.
Models will be selected based on their poise, confidence and stage presence. Potential models must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and a completed application form and full-length color photo to the model call.
Applications are available at www.akronchildrens.org/americangirlfashionshow or by calling 330-746-8712. There is no fee to audition.
Once selected, models must be available to attend a Feb. 6 fitting and Feb. 27 and March 4 rehearsals, in addition to their assigned show time.
Each girl who participates in the show will be required to pay a $25 model registration fee, due at the fitting.
Selected girls will model at one of the four fashion shows at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on March 5 and 6 at Antone’s Banquet Centre, 8578 Market St.
Proceeds from the shows will benefit local programs and services of the hospital.
2016 honors recital will be Sunday
YOUNGSTOWN
Youngstown Music Teachers Association will host a 2016 honors recital at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Butler North Church, 562 Wick Ave.
Students who will perform are Grace Li, Ava Patrone, Jared Giovannone, Sasha Petrochko, Ella Dill, Sydney Schuler, Morgan Bradley, Julia Rea, Marrisa Patrone, Lena Dill, Armand Giovannone, Carlie Harmon, Anne Rea, Akilah Thomas, Carrie Yasnowski, Lydia Noble, Christina Kim, Anthony Mazzella, Hayden Coxson, Natalie Gottfried, Jonathan Scurich, Joel Kreuzwieser, Jacob Rizer and scholarship winner Rebecca Pfingstl.
Teachers represented at the event include Diane Yazvac, Rick Barber, Sean Baran, Delores Hansley, Elsie Barba, Alison Morris, YMTA president Dr. Melva Huebert, and Gina Bagnoli.
