Chicago/Youngstown flight service coming to airport

VIENNA

Flight service to Chicago is coming to the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport.

After months of back and forth with the U.S. Department of Transportation, Aerodynamics Inc. received approval today to offer service between Youngstown and Chicago.

“We find that Aerodynamics Incorporated is fit, willing, and able to engage in interstate scheduled air transportation of persons, property, and mail using small aircraft,” the DOT’s final order states.

In June 2014, ADI, a company that offers charter services, applied to provide flights between Youngstown-Warren and Chicago 10 times per week in a 50-passenger aircraft.

The DOT tentatively denied the service in January 2015 because of concerns with prior ownership. That ownership has since been changed.
