Chamber plans to showcase the Valley this summer

YOUNGSTOWN

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber has a plan to showcase the Mahoning Valley by utilizing the high-profile presidential convention taking place in Cleveland this summer.

The chamber, with assistance from the 316 Group, a Columbus consulting firm, will bring in site selectors, political dignitaries and journalists to the Youngstown and Warren region while the Republican National Convention takes place from July 18-July 21 at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland.

Local businesses, including Covelli Enterprises and the Cafaro Co., are working as ambassadors to tell the valley's story.

Site selectors, or representatives from industrial and commercial real estate firms will be shown around to the area's economic development assets during the event.

"I look for this to have serious positive outcomes for more than a decade," said Guy Coviello, vice president of government affairs for the chamber.
