Administrator fired from university in Ohio sues school

XENIA, Ohio (AP) — An administrator fired from a university in southwestern Ohio has filed a lawsuit alleging the school breached a contract with him.

The Dayton Daily News reports the lawsuit was filed in Greene County Common Pleas Court in Xenia by former Wright State University administrator Ryan Fendley.

Fendley’s lawsuit says the university terminated his consulting contract in January and stopped paying him when he was suspended in May. Fendley was fired in August and is seeking more than $30,000 in damages.

Wright State didn’t immediately return a call seeking comment.

The university has said Fendley’s termination stemmed from a federal investigation into possible temporary work visa violations.

A lawsuit filed previously in the Ohio Court of Claims says Fendley was unjustly fired. It seeks nearly $250,000 in back pay.
