Music at Noon returns to Butler

YOUNGSTOWN

Youngstown State University’s Dana School of Music, in collaboration with the Butler Institute of American Art, will present free Music at Noon performances every Wednesday in February at 12:15 p.m. at the Butler Institute of American Art, 524 Wick Ave. Parking is free at the Butler. Here is the schedule:

Feb. 3: Trombone studio; Feb. 10: YSU Barbershop Quartet; Feb. 17: Piano studio; Feb. 24: Tuba-euphonium ensemble

Paczki Dash 5K in Poland Forest

YOUNGSTOWN

Polish Youngstown, in conjunction with Vertical Runner of McDonald, will present the Paczki Dash 5K on Feb. 6 on the trails of Poland Forest.

The Paczki Dash is the first race in the Trail Mix Series of 2016. After the race, runners can enjoy a paczek donut. The race begins at Poland Library, 311 S. Main St., at 9 a.m. Registration is $20. A kids race for those 10 and under starts at 8:45 a.m. (no T-shirt included for the kids race). Go to run2VR.com.

Race packets can be picked up at Vertical Runner, 241 E. Marshall Road, McDonald, on Feb. 5 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Feb. 6 from 7:45 to 8:45 a.m. Awards will be given to the top three males and females overall and age- group finishers. Call Vertical Runner at 234-421-0188 for information.

Alec Baldwin hosts symphony concert

PITTSBURGH

Alec Baldwin is set to host a one-night Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra performance called “Alec’s Playlist.”

The Emmy-winning actor is a classical music enthusiast and will host the April 16 performance at Heinz Hall.

Baldwin will speak about classical music and its importance to him, including how certain pieces of music have transformed his life.

Tickets go on sale today and range from $25 to $105.
