SEBRING UPDATE | Sebring village manager receives call from U.S. Attorney's office

SEBRING — Sebring city Manager Richard Giroux received a call shortly after 9 a.m. today from U.S. Attorney's Office. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has called for a criminal investigation concerning the lead and copper contamination of the village's public water system, which has resulted in Sebring and Beloit residents receiving bottled water and school closings.

Giroux also met with Christopher Harshman, temporary water treatment plant superintendent, and engineers from W.E. Quicksall & Associates of New Philadelphia in village council members, to discuss ways the village can meet EPA requirements at the treatment plant.
