Boardman woman charged with stealing thousands from elderly couple


BOARDMAN — A township woman faces felony charges for allegedly stealing nearly $10,000 from an elderly couple who was in her care.

April Ramahi, 41, of Jaguar Drive, is charged with three felony counts of theft by deception after an investigation by township police.

A police report filed Dec. 30 alleges that Ramahi cashed checks without permission and made unauthorized debit-card transactions and ATM withdrawals. The alleged victims’ son reported to police that Ramahi, who was hired as a caretaker, stole thousands of dollars from his father and mother, who are in their 80s and suffer from dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, respectively.

Ramahi was taken into custody today. She is scheduled to appear in Mahoning County Area Court here March 8 for a preliminary hearing.
