NIGHTS AT THE RACES

Poland Rotary will host a night at the races at 6 p.m. Friday at Holy Family Parish Center, 2729 Center Road, Poland. Cost is $30 per person for an open bar and food. The event will include 10 horse races with minimum $2 bets. Raffle tickets will be sold for the chance to win golf clubs, a Michael Kors purse, Michael Kors watch, iPad, drone or $1,000 gift certificate to Aebischer’s Jewelry. The door prize is an Apple watch and there will be a Super Bowl block pool. Sponsorships for the Rotary’s March 5 Chili Open golf classic will also be available. Helping Hands Closet at Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road, Canfield, has new and gently used clothes for the entire family. January specials are as follows: Surprise sales will have customers pull a ticket in store and receive a percentage off a purchase. The hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Tuesday.

The Altar and Rosary Society of Our Lady of Perpetual Church, 618 Ohio Ave., McDonald, will sponsor a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 12 and 13.

SHOWS

Canfield High School Choral Department will host a dinner show “Disney Spectacular!” on Saturday at the school, 100 Cardinal Drive. A dinner will begin at 6 p.m. with a Taste of Canfield, which will include samples from local restaurants Ange Netta’s, Inner Circle, Saadey’s Place, Chick-fil-A and A La Carte. Canfield High School choirs will perform Disney favorites starting at 7:30. Tasting and concert combination tickets are $20, and concert only tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. TRIPS

Jewish Community Center, 505 Gypsy Lane, Youngstown, will host a bus trip Feb. 14 to Cleveland to see the musical “If/Then,” which follows one woman’s two possible life paths. Cost is $75 for JCC members and $85 for nonmembers, which covers the cost of an orchestra seat, transportation and tip for bus driver. Participants will eat dinner independently.
