Appraisals begin

LISBON

Appraisers are now reviewing residential and agricultural real estate in Butler, Hanover, Franklin, Wayne and Liverpool townships and in the city of East Liverpool, according to Columbiana County Auditor Nancy Milliken.

They soon will be reviewing properties in Perry and Salem townships and in Salem, Leetonia and Washingtonville in their re-valuation of county real estate.

Appraisers, who carry official identification, will be conducting on-foot and drive-by exterior examinations of land and buildings and interviewing some real-estate owners about their property’s characteristics during business hours.

If nobody is home when they visit, the appraisers leave door-card questionnaires to be completed by property owners and mailed back to the appraisers.

Counting homeless

WARREN

The Trumbull County Housing Collaborative is coordinating the Trumbull County Point in Time Count of the homeless from 5:31 a.m. Tuesday to 7:38 a.m. Wednesday.

The Trumbull County Housing Collaborative, which was formed in 1998, is composed of representatives from more than 50 public, private and nonprofit agencies serving Trumbull County. Its goal is to address the needs of homeless families and individuals, coordinate services and facilities and identify and address “Gaps in Services” for homeless people and those at risk of homelessness.

One important measure for determining homeless funding is a count of the homeless on a particular day.

Volunteers are needed throughout the county to assist with the count. Anyone interested can contact Sister Jean Orsuto at the Emmanuel Community Care Center 330-545-4301.
