Historical society seeks assistance
POLAND
The Poland Historical Society is seeking individuals with memories of historical events in Poland from 1966 to 2016 to assist with the publication of a book covering this time period. Community organizations and businesses are also invited to submit a history of their group or update existing histories.
Photographs should be sent as a JPG file through email. Submitted articles, limited to 500 words, should be mailed to Poland Historical Society, P.O. Box 5052, Poland, OH 44514, or send in a Microsoft Word file to phs@polandtownship.com by March 1. Call 330-536-6877 for information.
The society reserves the right to edit and publish the submissions, and not all submissions will be published. Personal or family biographical sketches will be denied; events that influenced the village and its community members will be the focus of the book.
Volunteers are needed to write and edit historical articles as well as solicit advertisers. Email the society to indicate how you can help.
The society previously published “Poland Historical Highlights,” which covered Poland’s history from 1866 to 1966. The new supplemental book covering events since 1966 will be available for sale at Celebrate Poland in June and proceeds will benefit the society.
