Jan. 6

Arrest: Police took into custody 30-year-old Jimmy R. Torres of Ferndale Avenue, Youngstown, on a warrant charging failure to appear in court after answering a call pertaining to someone who had been asleep in a booth at a Boardman-Canfield Road restaurant and refused to leave.

Burglary: A man reported that while staying at a Market Street motel, someone entered his room and took $50.

Identity fraud: A worker for a Boardman-Canfield Road chiropractic center discovered someone without consent had tried to open a credit-card account with his name and Social Security number.

Misuse of a credit card: A West Boulevard man found $175.60 worth of fraudulent charges on his credit-card statement.

Theft: A Poland woman noticed her purse missing while at a Windham Court doctor’s office.

Theft: Stephanie R. Martin, 25, of Connecticut Avenue, Youngstown, was charged with exchanging price tags on an $11 hooded sweatshirt at Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Arrest: Jeremiah V. McClarin, 29, who listed addresses on West Boulevard in Boardman and Buckeye Court in Youngstown, was arrested at a Market Street motel. He was wanted on a probation-violation charge.

Harassment: Nicole F. Parrish, 38, was taken into custody on a telecommunications-harassment charge after her former boyfriend alleged Parrish, of West Indianola Avenue, Youngstown, had sent him numerous unwanted text messages last August.

Domestic violence: Tiffani A. Day, 43, of Erskine Avenue, Boardman, was charged with the crime after a man alleged Day had struck his face and pulled out a clump of his hair during an argument.

Theft: Three men reportedly stole about $2,033 worth of merchandise, including 25 shirts, from Victoria’s Secret in Southern Park Mall.

Identity theft: A North Lima man told police he received an email from his bank alerting the accuser that his email address, password and mailing address for his credit-card information had been changed without authorization.

Assault/drugs: While responding to a possible burglary in the 7500 block of Oregon Trail, authorities charged 19-year-old Cheyenne P. Rowbotham of Melbourne Avenue, Boardman, with two counts of simple assault and one each of aggravated trespassing and criminal damaging, as well as 21-year-old Zachary A. Hanna of Oregon Trail, Boardman, with possession of drug paraphernalia. Rowbotham’s former boyfriend alleged she had punched his face as he tried to intervene when she attacked his girlfriend; in addition, several items in the kitchen were damaged during the argument. Also, a digital scale and a device often used to grind marijuana were found, police alleged.

Burglary: To an apartment in the 7300 block of West Boulevard, from which a 42-inch TV, a Sony PlayStation 4 game system, a mixer and a rice cooker were removed.

Criminal damaging: An official with Marshall’s Department Store, 1138 Boardman-Poland Road, noticed a hole in a ceiling tile and light damage to a portion of drywall. Later, a bullet was found on the floor nearby, a report showed.

Drugs: A suspicious vehicle in the 6000 block of Applecrest Court caught officers’ attention before they issued minor-misdemeanor citations charging 28-year-old Karell T. McDaniel Jr. of Applecrest, Boardman, with possession of marijuana and drug possession, as well as 26-year-old Jonathan Jackson Jr., same address, with drug possession.

Theft: An employee with a Doral Drive big-box store reported his $120 fleece jacket stolen while at work.

Jan. 7

Misuse of a credit card: A Sierra Madre Trail man found on his debit-card statement several unauthorized transactions that originated in Niles. The loss came to $1,204.

Identity fraud: A Warren man noticed two unauthorized charges totaling $750 that had originated at a U.S. Route 224 sporting-goods store.

Theft: Officers charged 21-year-old Nickolas V. Colorite of Tudor Lane, Boardman, with stealing a $7 toy from Walmart.

Theft: A Youngstown woman reported four real-estate books stolen from her room at a Tiffany Boulevard motel.

Misuse of a credit card: A Chardon woman learned that someone without permission had obtained her debit-card number after discovering two fraudulent transactions totaling $445 took place at a South Avenue big-box store.

Theft: Charles J. Dann, 38, of Greenmont Drive Southeast, Warren, was charged with taking a three-pack of computer dusters and other small items from Walmart.

Jan. 8

Attempted burglary/voyeurism: A woman told police a man tried to open a rear window to her Lemans Drive apartment and, while outside the accuser’s window, exposed himself to her.

Attempted burglary: A woman reported someone tried to enter her apartment in the 7300 block of West Boulevard through a bedroom window.

Arrest: Officers responded to a report of an unwanted person at a Market Street bank before taking into custody 51-year-old James P. Kula of Market, Boardman, who was wanted on a bench warrant charging failure to appear in court.

Criminal mischief: Several eggs were thrown at a front window to a residence in the 900 block of Larkridge Avenue.

Drugs/weapon: Authorities arrested 19-year-old Jaquayntae C. Wilburn at his Hillman Way apartment on charges of drug abuse, being a convicted felon with a firearm and possession of drug paraphernalia. A search warrant Dec. 8, 2015, at the Boardman apartment turned up a digital scale, a bag containing 10 over-the-counter pills, a .32-caliber handgun, two suspected marijuana pipes and a device commonly used to grind marijuana, a report showed.

Theft: An official with Paul C. Bunn Elementary School, 1825 Sequoya Drive, reported a $700 iPad stolen.

Harassment: A West Boulevard woman said a man with whom she had corresponded via an online dating site continued to harass her after she wished to break off communications with him.

Harassment: A Boardman real-estate agent told police a man in his 60s continually made and sent such calls and text messages after she had shown a Lockwood Boulevard condominium.

Theft: A man in his mid- to late 20s stole a $15 compact disc from Best Buy, 561 Boardman-Poland Road.

Theft by deception: A Maple Drive woman alleged a family member stole $3,856 from her after having tricked the accuser into believing they would invest the money in an online gaming system.

Theft: A man left Quench Bar & Grill, 8414 Market St., without paying his $73 tab.

Possible theft: A man reported 22 over-the-counter pills lost or stolen from his Squirrel Hill Drive home.

Vandalism: An official with the city of Youngstown reported someone had tossed eggs at his vehicle while it was in the 6700 block of Applewood Boulevard.

Jan. 9

Arrest: Officers responded to a one-car accident near Market Street before charging 49-year-old John F. Kennedy of Covington Street, McDonald, with operating a vehicle impaired.

Citation: A vehicle check on Market Street resulted in a minor-misdemeanor citation charging 18-year-old Emanuel K. Valentin of East Avondale Avenue, Youngstown, with possessing a small quantity of marijuana.

Domestic violence: Springfield Township police handed to Boardman authorities 22-year-old Pamela T. Kerby of Shadyside Drive, Boardman, who was wanted on a domestic-violence charge related to a Sept. 11, 2015, situation in which her sister alleged Kerby had punched her face and pushed her head into a car trunk during an argument at a Doral Drive big-box store pertaining to a check. The accuser suffered a deep cut to the back of her head.

Theft: A Firnley Avenue man told police his $300 cellphone had been stolen as he slept.

Theft: A man in a hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans reportedly stole $80 worth of socks and undergarments from Walmart.

Arrest: Police near Market Street pulled over and took into custody Joseph M. Czap, 59, of Mathews Road, Boardman. He was wanted on a city warrant charging failure to appear in court.

Criminal damaging: Someone drove through and damaged part of a backyard in the 8100 block of Hunting Valley Drive.

Theft: A resident at a South Avenue group home discovered eight CDs missing from his room.

Theft: Police charged 29-year-old Joseph E. Grove with theft after alleging Grove, of West Judson Avenue, Youngstown, had stolen six pairs of men’s shoes from Sears in Southern Park Mall.

Bad checks: Someone wrote five checks drawn on a closed account to buy merchandise at Lariccia’s Italian Market Place Restaurant, 7538 Southern Blvd.

Theft: A woman reported 36 artificial flowers had been removed from a family member’s gravesite at a Market Street cemetery.

Theft: Youngstown police transferred custody of Lakeya U. Hilton of East Avondale Avenue, Youngstown, to township authorities. The 19-year-old Hilton faced two counts of theft, accused of stealing merchandise last November from Walmart.

Arrest: Police responded to a possible shoplifting situation at a Shell True North gas station, 950 Boardman-Poland Road, where they took 21-year-old Ronald L. Easterling into custody. Easterling, of Halls Heights Avenue, Youngstown, was wanted on a charge of failing to appear in court.

Theft: An East Palestine woman told officers her wallet had been stolen while she patronized a Boardman-Canfield gas station.

Theft: A Melrose Avenue woman noticed $40 missing from her purse.

Jan. 10

Arrest: Shauna L. Marchionda, 31, was taken into custody after having been pulled over on Youngstown-Poland Road. Marchionda, who listed addresses on Glenwood Avenue in Boardman and Sheridan Road in Youngstown, was wanted on a warrant.

Theft: Aaren M. Thompkins, 18, of Terrace Drive, Boardman, and 21-year-old Rayshawn L. Scott of West Evergreen Avenue, Youngstown, were charged with theft and complicity to theft, respectively, after $107 worth of electronics items as well as health-and-beauty products were stolen from Walmart.

Theft: A man and a woman in their 20s reportedly left Primanti Bros., an eatery at 6731 South Ave., without paying their $29 food bill.

Drugs: Authorities arrested 35-year-old Joseph M. Lusher at his Melrose Avenue residence on warrants charging the Boardman man with one count each of drug abuse, possession of drug-abuse instruments and drug paraphernalia. On Dec. 30, police responded to an unresponsive person and found suspected heroin in a folded piece of paper, along with spoons and hypodermic needles with suspected heroin residue, they alleged.

Theft: A man in his late 20s reportedly took $156 worth of cologne and perfume from the J.C. Penney store in Southern Park Mall.

Jan. 11

Arrest: Authorities responded to suspicious activity in the 5200 block of Market Street, then arrested 28-year-old Robert H. Shuler, who listed addresses on Stanton Avenue in Boardman and West Judson Avenue in Youngstown. Shuler was wanted on a charge of failing to appear in court.
