It’s not snow bad ...

The Mahoning Valley will not be touched by the severe snowstorm that’s expected to bury sections of the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast, a local meteorologist says.

“We avoid it completely,” said Eric Wilhelm, chief meteorologist for 21 WFMJ-TV, The Vindicator’s broadcast partner. “We’re not getting anything – not a flake on Friday, Saturday or Sunday.”

That storm is expected to drop up to 2 feet of snow in cities including New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington between Friday and Saturday, he said. The high temperature Friday in the Valley will be in the mid-20s and close to 30 Saturday and Sunday, Wilhelm said.

“It’s just a typical January cold,” he said. “Lows in the midteens at night, but no snow.”

It’s been cold and a little snowy so far this week.
